Article I. Time and Place of Meetings
Attendance is mandatory at all meetings. The meetings will be
conducted by the President with Vice-Presidents assistants.
The time and place of meetings of the chapter of The National Beta
Club shall be the first and third Tuesday of each month (refer to the events
calendar for the dates) in the library during seminar, 2:45-3:15 p.m.
Article II.Standards of Membership
The standard of membership in Greenville High School chapter of
The National Beta Club must accept the features laid down in the
National Constitution.The classes from which members be drawn shall
be freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior classes. The requirements for
membership in this chapter of The National Beta Club shall be 8.0 GPA.
Any student receiving a D or having GPA which falls below 8.0 will be p
laced on probation. This will be checked each semester.
Article III. Loss of Membership
A member of this chapter of the National Beta Club may be dropped from
membership if he/she is receiving a D or having a GPA which falls below 8.0
for more than two semester. This will be checked each semester. If a student is
sent to ISS more than one time per year, they will be dropped from the chapter.
However, no member can be dropped if not placed on probationary period for
one semester to raise his/hers GPA record above the minimum required
for membership.
Article IV. Service Projects
As soon as induction is taken place in the fall semester of the school year, this chapter
of the National Beta Club will undertake programs of service will benefit to
Greenville High School or the community. The community service projects
have to be approved by the advisors/ sponsors.
Requirements to attend Convention:
-Have in a nonrefundable deposit of $50 raised or paid by the end of second semester.
-Have paid or raised $150 total by March 1st to pay for their trip to Beta Convention.
-Not be on probation at the time of convention.
-Have completed the minimum number of service hours required to go on the trip (15 per year) by March 1st.
-Students must complete at least 7 service hours by the end of first semester to be eligible to go to convention.
-Each student must participate in a significant way to one of the Beta convention completion categories (banner, web design, etc.) or they will not be allowed to attend convention. The sponsors reserve the right to assign students to which category they will be allowed to participate in. Each student will be given a chance to participate in one of these activities. Participating in a significant way means that students must work at least three hours on these projects in the sponsor’s presence, unless it is an individual competition they are competing in.
Rules regarding service hours:
-15 service hours per year are required to go to the convention.
-Extra hours earned from one school year may carry over to the next semester.
-No more than 1/3rd (5 hours) of the hours can be from any one specific service project.
-No more than 1/3rd (5 hours) of the hours can come from donated items (food, coats, etc.).
-All service hours must be approved by Beta sponsors prior to the activity in order to potentially count.
-Sponsors reserve the right to make final decisions upon what hours count.
