Constitution
Article I.
Name
The name of this organization for Greenville High School is Greenville
Sr. Beta Club. It is a chapter of the National Beta Club.
Article II.
Purpose
The purpose of this organization shall be the promotion of scholarship, leadership, and good citizenship at the Greenville High School.
The National Beta Club continually develops and cherish individuals by providing opportunities and experiences, enabling then to demostrate the ideals of character, achievement, leadership, and service in a global community.
Article III.
MembershipThe membership of this organization shall be made up from among the students of the ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth, grades of the Greenville High School, who, because, of their worthy, character, good mentality, creditable achievement, and commendable attitude, have been approved for membership by the sponsors and principal,; provided, of course, that these students meet the requirements as set forth in the by-laws of the organization as appended on this website.
Article IV.
Officers
The officers of this chapter of The National Beta Club shall be a President and a Vice-President. The duties for the President is to conduct the meetings, to appoint the sponsors of this chapter; to represent this organization when necessary; and to administer the polices as laid down in this constitution and its by-laws. Should the president be absent or incapacitated to perform the duties of the office, the Vice-President should take responsibility to preside at meetings.
Article V.
Meetings
Regular meetings should be held at such times and places should be designated in the by-laws. Special meetings may be called upon by the President after consultation with and the approval of the Sponsors. The public may be invited to attend any regular or special meeting of this organization if approved by a majority vote at any previous meeting with a quorum present.
Article VI.
Services
Besides endeavoring at all times to be of service to the Greenville High School and its students by upholding high standards of honesty and good citizenship, this chapter of The National Beta Club, shall---after consultation with and upon the approval of the sponsors of the Sr. Beta Club-- undertake some worthwhile service project, as designated in the by-laws appended herein below.
Article VII.
Amending the Constitution
The constitution of this organization may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the membership at any meetings where a quorum is present; provided that notice of the proposed amendment has been give at a previous meeting.
